PHYSICAL HEARING TO RESUME SOON IN SUPREME COURT

In view of the advice from medical experts, physical hearings will resume in two-three court rooms of the Supreme Court soon. As such virtual hearing through video conference will be reduced. This will be done to normalize the present situation affected by the ongoing corona pandemic. The Supreme Court judge's panel has advised to resume physical hearing while the virtual hearing will also continue. A seven-judge committee of the apex court, headed by Justice N V Ramana was assigned the task of exploring possibility of resumption of physical hearings in the apex court. In June, lawyers' bodies had demanded resumption of regular courtroom hearings, but the apex court committee did not agree.
