Shanghai Zoo stages a birthday banquet for one of their giant pandas over the weekend. Shanghai Zoo, located in the district of Changning, staged the birthday surprise for panda He Feng who arrived at the park a year ago. He Feng, who was born on 9th August 2016 in Chengdu in the south-western Chinese province of Sichuan Province, was treated to a birthday feast which included a three-tier cake. Zoo spokesperson Pan Xiuwen said: “He Feng weighs over 50 kilogrammes (7.9 stone) now thanks to good care, and he is a real 'foodie' who always rushes to his keepers once snacks are ready.” Zoo workers said the energetic panda is nicknamed ‘White Socks’ because it has white hair on his toes. Due to the fights the panda sometimes gets into, it is also known as ‘Mad He’.
