How to calculate oxidation number part-I || class 11
  • 4 years ago
I gave basic idea about how to calculate oxidation number of different elements present in different molecules in this video lecture. Redox reactions are one of the most important reactions of chemistry. It has two types - oxidation and reduction. In redox reactions it is very important to know oxidation states and oxidation numbers of different elements present in oxidising and reducing agents. This video will provide enough information about what is oxidation number and its relation with oxidation state. I tried to give an introduction about how to find oxidation states and oxidation numbers of various elements in different molecules through this video. It will help the students to develop concepts about the topic “oxidation and reduction” which is included in the syllabus of class 11(CBSE & ICSE). I discussed about methods of determination of oxidation number of elements in electrovalent compounds and covalent compounds separately with examples. I hope this video will develop a fundamental idea about oxidation state and oxidation number among the beginners. Students will be interested about the topic after watching the video lecture.
