Group of brave villagers save drowning old woman in east India

An old woman was rescued from drowning in a river in eastern India by a group of villagers.

The 72-year-old woman, named Malli Behera, comes from Dadhibabanpur village under Mansada area of Binjharpur Block, Odisha, and was bathing in the Kharasrota river when she fell asleep and floated away.

A youth named Maheswar Mallick noticed this and immediately jumped into the river to rescue her.

A group of villagers gathered and threw a rope to the youth to support his rescue work. The old woman was taken to a doctor and her was found unharmed.
