A truck-mounted crane tumbled over while felling a tree on the roadside.

The vehicle was cutting the lifting the branches after they had been cut with a chainsaw in East Java, Indonesia, on Tuesday afternoon.

However, the weight of the bark was too much and the orange crane was dragged over.

Residents screamed and rushed to the overturned crane to pull the operator from the cabin. He emerged shaken by smiling after being rescued.

The Turen Sector Police Officer, Adjunct Police Inspector Satrio, said there were no fatalities in the incident in the Turen District of Malang Regency.

He said: "There were no human casualties. The only loss was the damage to a crane truck. The incident had made traffic flow to a standstill.''

Crane trucks are used to cut down large and old trees on the roadside. Tree felling is done in stages and carried out for several weeks.
