Cape Town Methodist Church cleaned after migrants removed

Following the removal of over 500 migrants from the Cape Town Methodist Church a sanitation team has started emptying and cleaning the venue.

Video filmed on Tuesday (April 7) shows members of the sanitation team in hazmat suits outside the church.

The migrants were removed as part of government efforts to enforce a 21-day lockdown against the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The church has been occupied for the last five months by migrants whose demands included being repatriated to a different country.
