Holashtak time is not considered auspicious in Hinduism. The beginning of Holashtak lasts from the Ashtami date of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month to the full moon of Phalgun. Holika Dahan is done on the full moon of Phalgun. This year Holashtak will start from 2 March 2020 and end on 9 March. It is believed that in these days itself, angry with Prahlada's devotion, Hiranyakashyap gave him many kinds of sufferings and tortures eight days before Holi. जल्द ही रंगों का त्योहार होली दस्तक देने वाला है। लेकिन होली से पहले 8 दिनों तक होलाष्टक मनाए जाते हैं। इस साल होलाष्टक आज यानी 2 मार्च से शुरू हो रहे हैं। हिंदू धर्म में होलाष्टक के समय को शुभ नहीं माना जाता है। होलाष्टक की शुरुआत फाल्गुन मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की अष्टमी तिथि से लेकर फाल्गुन की पूर्णिमा तक रहती है। फाल्गुन की पूर्णिमा पर ही होलिका दहन किया जाता है। इस साल होलाष्टक 2 मार्च 2020 से शुरु होकर 9 मार्च को खत्म होगा। माना जाता है कि इन दिनों में ही प्रह्लाद की भक्ति से नाराज होकर हिरण्यकश्यप ने होली से आठ दिन पहले उसे कई तरह के कष्ट और यातनाएं दीं। जिसकी वजह से इस समय को अशुभ कहा जाता है। ऐसे में आइए आपको बताते हैं वो 5 काम जो होलाष्टक के समय में करने से बचना चाहिए।
