Rohith Vemula, a student at Hyderabad University had committed suicide in January 2016 after being socially boycotted from the university on orders of a BJP minister. He was reduced to his immediate identity of being a dalit and later the same BJP/ABVP questioned Rohith's caste & whether he was a dalit.
Arnab Goswami laid out facts about the case and BJP MPs and ministers being responsible for pushing Rohith over the edge, but in 2017 (on his new channel Republic TV) Arnab took a full u-turn and blamed people who were standing up to get justice for Rohith and his family. Arnab went on to contradict everything he himself had said a year before and only tailed the BJP govt's report on the case.
