Environmental technicians from Mexico are rushing to save the turtle population on the coast of Oaxaca, after hundreds of turtles died due to a red tide, an environmental phenomenon caused by an increase in microalgae in the water. The National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP) has so far registered 292 turtles that have died from red tide poisoning.
