Cops set their sights on mat rempits during CNY season

Bukit Aman will go on total enforcement during the latest edition of Ops Selamat, focusing on the "mat rempit" menace, says Datuk Mazlan Mansor.
The Deputy Inspector-General of Police said that after launching Ops Selamat in conjunction with the coming Lunar New Year celebrations at Persada Plus on Tuesday, adding that mat rempits have been the most prominent public nuisance in recent years, thus police will come down hard on them.

Ops Selamat will be held from Jan 18 to Feb 1, with the main objective of minimising road accidents and preventing house break-ins.
