Residents living near Maradu apartment complex have started vacating their homes as they are scared of demolition. “Unhappy New Year" & "God save my house" are painted on walls. One of the residents said that his house will be destroyed when demolition takes place. Officials have said that “steps have been taken for safe demolition”. “We're adopting implosion technology. For safety of people we'll move them out of the area,” said Venugopal, Dy Chief Controller of Explosives, from Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation.
