R. Kelly Faces New Charges
Related to His Marriage to Aaliyah.
Kelly allegedly bribed a public employee for
a fake ID to marry 15-year-old Aaliyah in 1994.
The marriage between then 27-year-old Kelly and Aaliyah was annulled a few months later.
Kelly was indicted on the latest charge in Brooklyn on Thursday.
Aaliyah is referred to as
“Jane Doe #1” in the court documents.
It is the first federal charge stemming
from R. Kelly and Aaliyah's wedding.
Aaliyah died in a plane crash in 2001.
R. Kelly is also facing charges for racketeering and sex trafficking.
Kelly is currently being held in Chicago prison without bail
