10ft-long cobra snuggled underneath compartment of moving train is rescued in northern India

A 10-feet-long venomous snake that crawled up into the battery storage section of the compartment of a moving train was rescued in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand.

The incident took place on Friday (November 22) at the Kathgodam railway station in Nainital district.

Video shows two rescuers using snake tongs to pull out the cobra.

According to the rescuers, some passengers had spotted the cobra sneaking underneath the train compartment and alerted he railway's authorities regarding the venomous reptile's presence in the long-distance express train.

According to reports, the operation was conducted by a joint team consisting of personnel from the Uttarakhand Forest Department and the Railway Protection Force.

The king cobra was later released in the forest.
