Waves smash violently against windows of cargo ship in North Atlantic

A cargo ship in the North Atlantic ocean sailing through treacherous conditions was subject to violent waves smashing against the windows on November 2.

Footage shows the RORO (Roll-On, Roll-Off) cargo ship in transit as incoming waves that are illuminated by the vessel's lights hit the windows.

The ship was travelling from Thorlakshofn, Iceland to Rotterdam, the Netherlands when the ship encountered the rough seas.

Third Officer Jonn Lydersen - who shot the footage - told Newsflare: "This is not everyday weather, we have this and worse weather one or two maybe three days a month during winter.

"But this was not the worst weather, the direction of the wind and waves was just bad for us because we had to go straight against it."
