MCA president and Ayer Hitam MP said Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik and his deputy Teo Nie Ching should speak up and help resolve the recent Universiti Malaya (UM) fracas.

Dr Wee said this when asked to comment on the action by UM student activist Wong Yan Ke to stage a protest calling for the resignation of the varsity's vice-chancellor Datuk Abdul Rahim Hashim for allegedly making racist comments.

Wong is being investigated for intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.
