Healthy Diets Can Help Young Adults With Depression.
A new study says eating more fruits and vegetables will help curb the issue for those entering their 20s.
The analysis, which was over three weeks, can be found in the journal PLOS One.
In it, a group of subjects was told to reduce intakes of sugar, fatty meats and refined carbohydrates.
Their daily diets had to include five servings of vegetables a day and three servings of grain and protein.
Participants, whose average age was 19, also had to have two to three servings of fruit.
In the end, lead author Heather Francis say those with a healthier diet showed improvement over those who didn't change eating habits.
Francis, a a neuropsychologist, adds that anti-inflammatory like cinnamon were also allowed.
