Report: State Department Steps Up Hillary Clinton Email Probe
  • 5 years ago
The State Department is reportedly stepping up Hillary Clinton email probe.

The U.S. State Department has reportedly continued its probe into Hillary Clinton's emails, contacting more than 100 officials whose messages were found in her inbox.
According to the Washington Post which broke the story Saturday, "Those targeted were notified that emails they sent years ago have been retroactively classified and now constitute potential security violations."
While many of the targets are said to view the investigation as partisan and retaliatory, one unnamed State Department official denied any politicization, saying, "This has nothing to do with who is in the White House. This is about the time it took to go through millions of emails, which is about 3½ years."
The news comes on the heels of a whistleblower complaint that claims President Trump tried to persuade the Ukrainian president into investigating another political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden and his son.
Trump continues to push back on the matter, tweeting Sunday: "Investigating Corruption is correct!"
