Massive RFA Lyme Bay arrives on River Thames for London International Shipping Week

Royal Fleet Auxiliary Lyme Bay arrives on the River Thames on its way to take part in the London International Shipping Week event today (September 10).

RFA Lyme Bay is a Bay-class landing ship dock of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. The Ministry of Defence said: "She is capable of delivering a significant fighting force anywhere in the world."

The huge ship weighs around 16,160 tons and is 177 metres in length with a top speed of 18 knots.
