Philippine Airlines will use Boeing 777-300ER planes for its second route to the United States, San Francisco. The B-777 can fly from Manila to the US and back non-stop without refueling. PAL president Ramon Ang says the company will gradually phase out the B-747 to save as much as $120 million a year in fuel and maintenance costs. PAL is gearing up for additional flights to the US, including New York, Chicago, Florida and other major cities. ANC News Now, May 13, 2014
