MANILA, Philippines – Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Ramon Antonio Franco recalled the emotional stress he went through, worrying about his family in Tacloban while training for the competition. Franco, who plowed through training even then, said he repeatedly tried to contact his family after each of their training sessions in Iran. Franco, who dominated his Brunei foe in the gold medal match of the men’s individual kumite 55-kg category, said he had to block out his feelings during the training camp. -- Mornings @ ANC, December 19, 2013.
