Drilon: Solons must not name PDAF project implementers
  • 5 years ago
MANILA - Senate President Franklin Drilon believes lawmakers must not be allowed to identify the implementers of projects funded by their priority development assistance fund (PDAF). Drilon said the role of the lawmakers should be confined to naming which government agencies should receive allocations from their pork barrel and the amount being allotted for each agency. This way, the procedure is transparent and the money will not end up in the hands of unintended beneficiaries. The Senate President is willing to give up his PDAF. He cautioned that any decision to abolish the pork barrel must consider that there are lawmakers who are able to produce a clear accounting of where their pork barrel went.
