Under the ICC World Test Championship, the Test series between India and West Indies will start on 22 August. The Test Championship is being played under the ICC's new initiative to rejuvenate Test matches. In this championship, players are allowed to have their number and name on the jersey. The New Jersey was seen in Ashes series between England and Australia as well. This jersey was welcomed by many veterans in Test cricket, while there were other cricketers like Adam Gilchrist, Shoaib Akhtar, who did not like this idea of ICC at all. Despite this, it is a new experiment in Test cricket and Team India has shown the glimpse of this jersey for the first time.

आईसीसी की विश्व टेस्ट चैंपियनशिप के तहत भारत और वेस्टइंडीज के बीच 22 अगस्त से टेस्ट सीरीज शुरू हो रही है। टेस्ट मैचों को फिर से जीवंत बनाए रखने के लिए आईसीसी की नई पहल के तहत टेस्ट चैंपियनशिप खेली जा रही है। इस चैंपियनशिप में खिलाड़ियों को जर्सी पर उनका नंबर और नाम लिखने की इजाजत दी गई है। इंग्लैंड और ऑस्ट्रेलिया में के बीच एशेज सीरीज में टेस्ट मैचों की नई जर्सी का डेब्यू भी हो चुका है। इस जर्सी का कई दिग्गजों ने टेस्ट क्रिकेट में स्वागत किया था तो एडम गिलक्रिस्ट, शोएब अख्तर आदि क्रिकेटर भी थे, जिनको आईसीसी का यह आइडिया कतई पसंद नहीं आयाा था। इसके बावजूद यह टेस्ट क्रिकेट में नया प्रयोग है और टीम इंडिया ने पहली बार इस जर्सी की झलक दिखाई है।
