The NYPD Officer Who Killed Eric Garner Has Been Fired.
The New York Police Department officer responsible for the death of Eric Garner has been fired.
Commissioner James O’Neill announced today that Daniel Pantaleo will no longer serve with the NYPD.
The decision follows the ruling by an NYPD administrative judge who found that Pantaleo
was guilty of using a banned chokehold. .
Garner's family has remained vocal following the attempted arrest of Eric in 2014 for allegedly selling illegal cigarettes, which led to his untimely death.
Panaleo’s attorney has stated that they plan to
appeal the decision
