Trump imposes new tariffs on US$300 billion worth of Chinese goods only days after latest trade talks in Shanghai
  • 5 years ago
US President Donald Trump says Washington will impose a new 10 per cent tariff on US$300 billion worth of Chinese goods on September 1, 2019. The decision followed trade negotiations in Shanghai between the world’s two largest economies, that ended with no deal on July 31, 2019. The escalation in the 13-month US-China trade war also comes despite Trump’s June 29 promise to hold off on new sanctions.
