Governor Ricardo Rosselló Nominates Successor After Stepping Down

People took to the streets of Puerto Rico, demanding Governor Ricardo Rosselló step down. This came after the release of profane chat messages and federal corruption charges against two former administration officials. Rosselló decided to resign and will nominate former Rep. Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia as his successor. According to Reuters, Pierluisi Urrutia must still be approved by Puerto Rican lawmakers.
