Mouse, Dies at Age 75.
Russi Taylor, best-known for being the voice
behind Disney’s Minnie Mouse, passed away
on July 26, in Glendale, California. .
Bob Iger, Chairman of The Walt Disney Company,
voiced his condolences in a statement the following day.
Minnie Mouse lost her voice with the passing
of Russi Taylor…It was a privilege to have
known her and an honor to have worked with
her, and we take comfort in the knowledge
that her work will continue to entertain
and inspire for generations to come, Bob Iger, via statement.
Taylor first rose to fame in 1986 when she landed the role of
Minnie, beating out 200 other voice actors who auditioned. .
She went on to voice Minnie in a number of films and
TV series including ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit,’
‘Runaway Brain’ and ’Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.’.
She also lent her voice to other well-known
characters such as Donald Duck’s three nephews
and Martin Prince from ‘The Simpsons.'.
