MTV’s ‘Making the Band’ to Return The classic reality TV show is coming back to the small screen. Originally airing from 2000 - 2009, the MTV series handpicked members to form musical groups. Diddy, who made the initial announcement, also added that they are in the process of conducting a “worldwide search.” Diddy, via Twitter The show was known for launching girl group Danity Kane and boy band O-Town, among others. The reality TV series is set to return to MTV in 2020.
