The Pentagon Can Now Use A Laser To Identify Someone Based On Their Heartbeat
  • 5 years ago

The Pentagon’s Combating Terrorism Technical Support Office (CTTSO) has a new piece of tech.
The office developed a device that can identify people based on their cardiac signature using an infrared laser.
The device, called Jetson, takes about 30 seconds to identify the target using what’s called “laser vibrometry".
It uses a non-invasive technique that looks at the vibration caused by someone’s heartbeat.
