Angelo Mathews scored his 3rd ODI century after Lahiru Thirimanne fell to Kuldeep Yadav for 53. Mathews has played a matured knock and helped Sri Lanka rebuild after early jolts. Mathews, after being droppped by Bhuvneshwar, accelerated the flow of runs. Thirimanne and Mathews added 124-run stand for the fifth wicket. Jasprit Bumrah sent the Sri Lankan openers back early after they won the toss and opted to bat. Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya then struck in their 1st spells to put pressure on Sri Lanka.
