Passengers travelling on an Indian superfast train were shocked to see water suddenly gushing out from the air conditioning duct of the moving vehicle.

Sugaya Rai, a passenger on board Sanghmitra Express going to Patna from Bangalore, filmed and shared the video on June 29.

The video shows water first trickling out from the air con vent and then gushing out in force drenching a bed and inundating the floor.

Passengers can be heard complaining that the water was coming from a toilet where a pipe had broken.

They informed the ticket inspector who passed on the information to higher officials.

Railway officials said their mechanic fixed the problem within 90 minutes of receiving the complaint. They blamed the problem on heavy winds in Nagpur section that saw leaves clog up the drain hole of the air condition unit.

"Heavy wind had blown stray leaves, which had clogged up the air duct. As it rained water entered inside the duct and fell into the passenger area,” said an official.
