Opposition says one nation one poll is against federal principles

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for an all-party meet to push 'One Nation, One Election' has met a muted response. Several opposition leaders including Mamata Banerjee, Mayawati, Akhilesh Yadav, KCR, MK Stalin and Arvind Kejriwal have decided to skip the meet. Their argument is that holding simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly elections is "against federal principles". The BJP on the other hand argues that the move will save "time and money", reports CNN-News18's Arunima.
