Frog wedding to ‘appease rain god’ held in drought-stricken southwest India

Two frogs were “married” on June 8, 2019, in the Indian district of Udupi, where an intense heatwave has worsened the local impact of a nationwide water crisis. The event in the southwest state of Karnataka was held to ask a rain god for relief in an area reeling from a heatwave and drought.
