Donald Trump said his threat to impose tariffs on Mexican goods has been “indefinitely suspended” after the US and Mexico had reached an agreement on immigration enforcement. The US president’s June 8, 2019, announcement headed off a move that would have left the United States fighting trade wars with two of its three largest trading partners and that would further unnerve financial markets already on edge about a global economic slowdown.
