Three outs. The feat occurred during the eighth inning of
Boston's 8-0 win over the Kansas City Royals. Sale became the only active pitcher to record
two immaculate innings in the same season. The Red Sox ace also accomplished the feat
against the Baltimore Orioles on May 8. Max Scherzer is the only other active pitcher
to throw more than one immaculate inning
in his career. Sale pitched a complete game, three-hit shutout
on Wednesday night, recording 12 total strikeouts
in the victory. It was Sale's seventh game with at least
