Teabagger Of The Day: Ted Cruz

This idiot again.
Amid a flurry of recent court decisions striking down state gay-marriage bans, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Sen. Mike Lee, (R-Utah) have introduced a bill to protect states' rights to define marriage the way they want to.
According to a press release from Cruz's office, the bill "respects the definition of marriage held by the people of each state and protects states from the federal government's efforts to force any other definition upon them."
Lee said, "The State Marriage Defense Act provides an important protection for states, respecting the right to choose for themselves how each will treat the institution of marriage under the law."
Meanwhile, gay-marriage bans are biting the dust with increasing frequency.
In Virginia, a ban on same-sex marriage was struck down Thursday as unconstitutional. Earlier in the week, Nevada decided not to continue defending the state's gay marriage ban, saying the state lacked sufficient grounds to proceed.
Within the last three months, bans on gay marriage were also declared unconstitutional in Oklahoma and Utah. The Virginia and Utah decisions are stayed pending appeal, and the Oklahoma decision has been appealed by the state.
