On October 8, 1985, Peter Gene Hernandez was born in Honolulu, and better known as Bruno Mars, is an American singer, songwriter and producer. Born in Hawaii, Bruno was brought up in a musical family. The music of Bruno Mars is highly influenced by a variety of styles such as Elvis Presley, James Brown, Michael Jackson and also Alicia Keys and Jessie J. He made his debut as a songwriter composing for artists such as Flo Rida, Lil Wayne or Travie McCoy. In 2010, Bruno broke out as a singer alongside B.o.B with the hit "Nothin' on You". Later in the same year, he released "Just The Way You Are" which became a global hit and ranked 1st in Billboard 100. However, during the same time, he was at the heart of controversy as he got arrested in Las Vegas for possession of cocaine. Other popular songs by Bruno Mars include "Lazy Song", "Locked Out of Heaven" and "Uptown Funk". The Super Bowl XLVIII was headlined by Bruno Mars alongside his band The Hooligans. His talent has been rewarded more than twenty times since 2011. Mars cleaned up at the 2018 Grammy Awards, winning in all six categories for which he drew nominations.
