LGBT activists protest outside Sultan of Brunei’s Dorchester hotel in London

Demonstrators outside the Sultan of Brunei’s luxury hotel The Dorchester in London's Mayfair call for a boycott of his hotels.

This follows the Sultan implementing the whipping or stoning of gay people to death from next week.

The UN has condemned the “cruel and inhuman” laws.

George Clooney, Sir Elton John and Ellen DeGeneres are just some of the many celebrities who have called for a boycott of the Sultan’s hotels.

Other action taken in response to the recent laws includes Transport for London pulling advertisements promoting the Sultan from its network, Deutsche Bank banning its staff from staying in the nine hotels of the Dorchester Collection, and the TV Choice Awards announcing they would be moving to another venue.
