Tyson Recalls Over
60,000 Pounds of Chicken Tyson Foods is recalling 69,093
pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat
chicken strips that may contain metal. The effected products are
Tyson’s 25-ounce bag and
20-pound case of fully cooked
buffalo-style strips, and their 25-ounce bag of
fully cooked crispy chicken strips. The chicken products were
produced on November 30, 2018,
and have a “P-7221” establishment number. The Food Safety and Inspection
Service (FSIS) discovered the defect
because of two consumer complaints
about foreign materials in their products. The FSIS is urging consumers to
throw away or return impacted
products and to not risk consuming them. There have yet to be any injuries or
illnesses reported in relation to the recall. Tyson recently came under
fire in January, for products
contaminated with rubber material. They pulled more than 36,000
pounds of chicken nuggets from
club stores in five states as a result.
