Colombians protest President Ivan Duque's latest attempt to sink war crimes tribunal
  • 5 years ago
Hundreds took to the streets across Colombia after President Ivan Duque refused to sign off on the country's war crimes tribunal.

Footage captured on March 13 shows a crowd of protesters gathering at Plaza Bolivar in Bogota to show support for the tribunal, Justicia Especial para la Paz (JEP).

Demonstrators can be seen holding signs with messages reading 'No a la guerra' (No to war) and 'Yo defiendo la JEP' (I support the JEP).

The JEP seeks to provide justice to the victims of more than a half-century of armed conflict and tackle the high impunity rate for crimes against humanity in the country.
