Lok Sabha Elections 2019, J&K; Election Commission Appointed 3 Observers For Kashmir Assembly Polls
  • 5 years ago
Amidst the ongoing political war between the opposition and the ECI over the delay in holding the J&K assembly elections, the Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora will be holding a meeting with the three specially appointed observers to take stock of the situation in the valley. The CEC had earlier cited security issue as an impediment to hold the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls simultaneously with the Lok Sabha Polls. The EC has clarified that holding Lok Sabha Polls in the 6 constituencies of Kashmir will be much easier and conducive than holding assembly polls for a whopping 87 assembly constituencies, a mammoth task that would require umbrella security in every nook and crany of the state.
