Weeks after DMK’s announcement on alliance with Congress, it has now been finalised that the congress will contest 9 seats in Tamil Nadu and 1 seat in Puducherry. Meanwhile, MK Stalin led DMK will contest 20 seats in the state. The opposition alliance in Tamil Nadu also includes 7 other regional parties, to take on the combined might of the BJP-AIADMK. On the other hand, the ruling AIADMK is struggling to rope in DMDK into the alliance, which is demanding 7 seats in parity with the DMK.
