Protecting the Aravalli Hills: SC threatens Haryana with contempt

The Supreme Court yesterday came down heavily on the Haryana government for passing amendments to the Punjab Land Preservation Act (PLPA) of 1900, and throwing open an estimated 27,000 acres of land for construction and commercial activity. The apex court has ordered the state government not to implement the bill passed on Wednesday 27th February.
