Jat Quota Row: Trying hard to control violence, says Haryana Police

The Haryana Police on Saturday said instances of violence have come down in the city and efforts are being made to control the agitation caused by Jat protestors demanding reservations. "The instances of violence have come down. We are trying hard to control violence. We have called army and paramilitary forces," Haryana DGP YP Singhal said. The agitation began as Jats are demanding reservation for the community in government jobs and educational institutions. The protesters are not blocking roads everywhere, at some place people are responding in a peaceful way after talking to police and authorities, Singhal said at a press conference.
