The first phase of the polls recorded 57% voter turnout from 1.35 crore voters in 49 constituencies, while the second phase had 55% polling from 86.1 lakh voters in 32 seats. The third phase had a poll percentage of 53% from 1.45 crore voters in 50 seats, the fourth phase recorded 57% turnout from 1.47 crore voters in 55 seats and the fifth phase witnessed 60% voting from 1.55 crore voters cross 57 seats.

Most of the exit poll surveys gave an edge to the Grand Alliance over the NDA.
