Delhi garbage crisis: MCD strike enters third day

The National capital on Sunday witnessed heaps of filth and garbage along the roads and colonies as the MCD sanitation workers' strike entered its third day. It was called off a month ago after assurances from government. MCD workers are demanding the fulfillment of their 'long-pending' demands including timely payment of salaries. They want relief with the festive season in hand. With over 1.5 lakh sanitation workers on strike from Friday, approximately 10,000 metric tonnes of garbage would be left undumped. Meanwhile, the locals are bearing the brunt of the strike as they have to pass through the stinky lanes and roads.
