In a fresh twist to the FTII protest, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi used the college dais to target the RSS and the BJP. In a gesture of solidarity with the agitating students of the FTII, Rahul Gandhi publicly voiced fears of a saffron takeover of the institution claiming that the RSS is trying to promote mediocrity. He also took potshots at the centre saying it is trying to muzzle the right to dissent in the country.
