Voters in 18 seats in Jammu and Kashmir and 20 seats spread across seven Naxal-hit tribal districts of Jharkhand will exercise their franchise in the second phase of polling on Tuesday.

Fate of several high-profile candidates including two former chief ministers, seven state ministers and a former separatist will be sealed today. Security has been stepped up to foil any attempts by terrorists to disrupt the democratic process in Jammu and Kashmir, which has witnessed the killing of a sarpanch in Shopian district on Sunday.
