Shiv Sena set to join BJP government in Maharashtra
  • 5 years ago
Estranged political allies Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena appear to have reached an agreement on sharing power in Maharashtra. Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, who met Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday, tweeted on Tuesday morning, “5 Cabinet and 8 MoS for Sena in tomorrow’s oath? Jai Shri Ram! Namo namah.” After Sunday’s meeting, Swamy said, “Both parties need to come together for the cause of Hindutva.”

Power-sharing negotiations between the two parties, whose alliance ran for 25 years until September, reopened on Friday, after the gap of nearly three weeks, but they appeared to be going nowhere.
