Andar Ki Baat: Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena to join BJP govt in Maharashtra
  • 5 years ago
Putting an end to all speculations, Shiv Sena on Monday, Oct 27 confirmed that the party will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Maharashtra. Earlier the Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray hinted at his support to BJP while saying that his party would support BJP's decision on Chief Minister of the state. Shiv Sena in its mouthpiece 'Saamna' has written that whether it was Nitin Gadkari or Devendra Fadnavis, the party would support the leader who takes Maharashtra forward. According to sources, Shiv Sena and BJP sorted out their problems during the tea party hosted by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence at 7RCR in New Delhi on Sunday, Oct 26. The tea party was hosted for all NDA MPs - the first such event after the BJP-led alliance stormed to power in May - and utilised the occasion to ask them to be a symbol of positive political entity. All Shiv Sena MPs were also present, including Union Heavy Industries Minister Anant Geete. Speaking about their plan to extend their support to BJP, Geete was quoted as saying that all Shiv Sena MPs were there at the PM's "official" tea party. However, he also claimed, "No political discussions took place during the meeting. It was purely an official function."
