In a bid to defuse the tension between Indian and Pakistan after repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops along the international border in Jammu sector, the two countries held commander-level flag meeting on Wednesday. The meeting was held at Nikowal Border Out Post (BOP) in the Akhnoor sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by the local commanders of BSF and Pakistan Rangers.
"BSF lodged a formal protest with Pakistan Rangers over ceasefire violations, firing and shelling on border outposts and civilian areas by them during the past 45 days in which two people have been killed and 17 others injured," BSF sources said.
